Rappahannock MusiCamp

What is MusiCamp?

Rappahannock MusiCamp is the first week of camp each summer (June 17-22 this year). Hundreds of young people throughout the Potomac Division descend on Camp Rappahannock each June bringing their instruments, Bibles, paintbrushes, dance shoes, etc. In the morning they have Bible study (morning manna), and work hard in rehearsals. After lunch they continue rehearsing and even have time for recreation and swimming. Then they participate in Evening Program activities like water games, pool parties, recitals, and cabin challenges. Finally, before retreating to their cabins they reflect on the day at the Cross during Vespers.

Who is MusiCamp for?

MusiCamp is for kids (ages 8 and up) who are ALREADY ACTIVE in their local corps music & arts program, or (for beginners) at least already active in their corps. They need not be soldiers but must have a consistent, committed, and regular relationship to their corps in the Potomac Division.

Many leaders also join their young people and serve as our program staff. The teach classes, lead in activities, and make the whole thing work!

How to apply?

About MusiCamp Auditions

Not every major has auditions. Art, Guitar/Ukulele, Piano do NOT need to audition; although they should be actively honing their craft prior to camp, they will automatically be placed in their class when they arrive. Electives do not have auditions.

BRASS, PERCUSSION, DANCE, and ACTING do have auditions- they must prepare the audition material below to the full extent of their ability. All auditionees are encouraged to seek help to learn their part well. Auditions have a tremendous impact on their placement and thus their whole week at MusiCamp, so be diligent!
